Production is 25–30 days — but your real deadline includes sampling before it and shipping after it. Here's the full clock, worked backward from delivery day, so your bags arrive before the event and not the week after.
A custom bag order has three clocks: sampling (about 1–2 weeks), bulk production (25–30 days), and shipping (roughly 30–40 days door-to-door by sea to the US/EU, or 5–8 days by air). For an event, order about 3.5–4 months ahead with sea freight, or 2–2.5 months with air. The most common cause of missed dates isn't the factory — it's late artwork approval eating the buffer.
| Milestone | Time before event | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Order + artwork confirmed | ~16 weeks | Style, quantity, logo files locked; sampling starts |
| Sample approved | ~14 weeks | Your control copy confirmed; bulk starts |
| Production complete | ~9–10 weeks | QC against sample; photos to you; goods to port |
| Sea transit + customs | ~3–4 weeks left | Ocean leg, clearance, inland trucking (all handled if DDP) |
| Delivery | ~1–2 weeks buffer | Bags at your warehouse with margin for the unexpected |
Air freight compresses the shipping row to about a week — workable at 2–2.5 months out, at significantly higher freight cost. See DDP vs FOB for who handles what.
The #1 real-world delay. Logo files, mockup sign-off and sample feedback sitting in someone's inbox eat buffer silently. Decide fast; the factory clock only starts after approvals.
Pantone dye lots add days at the front. Stock colors skip this entirely.
Chinese New Year (Jan–Feb) stops factories for weeks; Q4 freight peaks. Orders landing near either need extra margin — we'll flag it when quoting.
We've run annual event gift programs on fixed tournament dates for over a decade — deadline planning is the part of this business we take personally.
25–30 days for most orders after sample approval, plus 1–2 weeks sampling before and shipping after.
About 3.5–4 months ahead by sea; 2–2.5 months by air at higher freight cost.
Sometimes, by season and style. We quote the honest schedule and tell you if compression is safe for your order.
Late artwork approval, sample revisions, custom dye lots, and CNY/Q4 congestion — mostly avoidable with early approvals and buffer.
