Two acronyms, one decision: how much of the design do you bring, and in what form? Here's what each route costs in time and money — and the modify-an-existing-style middle path that most real orders take.
OEM means the factory builds your design, supplied as a complete tech pack, as a physical sample we can match, or as a photo of a style already on the market that we build the pattern for; ODM means you take one of the factory's existing styles and brand it as yours. ODM is faster and cheaper because the pattern exists and the line already knows the style. The most common real-world route is the hybrid in between: take an existing style and change it — pockets, straps, fabric, dimensions — for OEM-level differentiation at near-ODM cost.

If yes — you're a bag brand and the silhouette is your identity — go OEM and own it. If the bag carries your brand rather than being it (gifts, merch, corporate programs), ODM or hybrid gets you there weeks earlier and meaningfully cheaper.
ODM: browse the 229-style shelf and send a code. Hybrid: same, plus your change list. OEM: send the tech pack, a photo of the style you want matched, or post us the physical sample — process and fees on the sample page, full timeline on lead times.

Not necessarily. A complete tech pack is the most precise input, but a physical sample we can take apart, or a photo of a style already on the market that we build the pattern for, work just as well — and most of our OEM projects start from one of those two. If none of them applies, the ODM route is open: pick the closest style from our 229-style shelf and we modify it, no tech pack needed. The common thread across all of them is that the bag already exists in some form — that's what a pattern room works from.
