Two acronyms, one decision: how much design do you bring? Here's what each route costs in time and money — and the modify-an-existing-style middle path that most real orders take.
OEM means the factory builds your design from a tech pack, sample or reference; ODM means you customize the factory's existing designs with your branding. ODM is faster and cheaper because the pattern exists and the line knows the style. The most common real-world route is the hybrid: modify an existing style — pockets, straps, fabric, dimensions — and get OEM-level differentiation at near-ODM cost.
| ODM (our design + your brand) | Hybrid (modified style) | OEM (your design) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| You provide | Logo + color choices | Base style + change list | Tech pack, sample or detailed reference |
| Sampling | Logo sample | Modified sample, usually 1 revision | Development sample, 1–2 revisions typical |
| Extra costs | Logo setup only | Small pattern adjustments | Development fee USD 30–300 (refunded on bulk), possible molds |
| Speed to bulk | Fastest | +1–2 weeks | +2–4 weeks |
| Design ownership | Shared catalog style | Your variant | Fully yours |
| Best for | Gifts, events, merch | Brands wanting a distinct product fast | Product companies where design is the moat |
If yes — you're a bag brand and the silhouette is your identity — go OEM and own it. If the bag carries your brand rather than being it (gifts, merch, corporate programs), ODM or hybrid gets you there weeks earlier and meaningfully cheaper.
ODM: browse the 170+ style shelf and send a code. Hybrid: same, plus your change list. OEM: send the tech pack or reference — process and fees on the sample page, full timeline on lead times.
Small-batch custom work (500–3,000 pieces) across all three routes is our core business — complex construction, precise logo work, and honest advice about which route your project actually needs.
OEM: we build your design. ODM: you brand our existing designs. Hybrid: modify an existing style — the most common real path.
ODM — the pattern exists and the line knows it. OEM adds development sampling and possible molds.
Yes — pockets, straps, fabric, dimensions. OEM-level differentiation at near-ODM cost.
Helpful but not required — a reference sample or dimensioned photos work; the development sample confirms construction.
